LONG SAULT – Bryan McGillis will be staying on as mayor of South Stormont for another four years and there’s a new face on council.
McGillis received 2,592 votes, defeating challenger and deputy mayor David Smith, who got 1,828 votes, in the unofficial results from Monday’s municipal election.
Councillor Andrew Guindon won as deputy mayor with 3,024 votes against Richard Waldroff (1,377).
The three councillors are incumbents Jennifer MacIsaac (2,935) and Cindy Woods (2,341) as a well as a newcomer to council, Reid McIntyre (2,746).
