Colts clip Hawks’ wings

Update 10 a.m. Monday: The Colts’ Sunday night game was postponed due to the weather.

CORNWALL – Home town energy propelled the Cornwall Colts to a couple of decisive wins this week.

The Colts pounded the Ottawa Junior Senators 8-3 Thursday night.

Then last night (Jan. 24), Cornwall beat the Hawkesbury Hawks 4-1 at the Ed Lumley Arena

Wyatt Warner scored a pair of goals while Colby Lauzon and Brandon Rockwell added singles.

Colts’ goalie Gabriel Poitras turned aside 23 of 24 shots on goal.

Cornwall is third in the Yzerman Division with 42 points (20 wins, 18 losses, 1 overtime loss and 1 shootout loss).

The Junior Senators are at 49 points and the Rockland Nationals lead the division with 70 points.

The Colts play again tonight when they visit the Pembroke Lumber Kings at 7:30 p.m.
