CORNWALL – A prolonged heat wave is expected to hit the Cornwall and SD&G area, starting Monday.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning as hot and humid conditions are expected to persist through most of the week.
Daytime highs will be in the low 30s.
But with the humidity it will feel like the low to mid 40s.
The Eastern Ontario Health Unit is suggesting people take precautions to avoid heat-related illness, such as heat stroke.
Those include drinking plenty of liquids, especially water, and wearing loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing.
The heat is not expected to break until Friday or Saturday.
