Update 5:17 a.m. Friday: Environment Canada has upgraded its advisory to a winter storm warning.

SD&G – A second significant blast of winter weather this week is expected to arrive Friday night.

Environment Canada has issued a winter storm watch calling for 10-25 centimeters (6-10 inches) of snow.

Peak snowfall rates during the storm will be around 3-5 centimeters (1.2-2 inches) per hour and that’s expected Friday night.

The wind will also be gusty causing blowing snow and reduced visibility.

The weather agency says the exact track of the weather system is not certain so the total amount of snow may vary by location.

A storm on Tuesday resulted in the cancellation of school buses on Tuesday and Wednesday.
