NORTHFIELD – An off-road-vehicle rider is dead after a mishap Sunday in South Stormont.
OPP say the crash happened on Willy Allan Road just before 3:45 p.m. when the driver lost control and hit a hydro pole.
The 56-year-old driver, identified as Kirk Fitzpatrick of Cornwall, was the only person on ORV and died of his injuries.
First responders were called to an area of Willy Allan Road, north of where it intersects Campeau Road, about three kilometers east of Northfield. The section of road has a few houses on it but the vast majority of land is quarries.
An investigation is ongoing.
