CORNWALL – The four men running to be the next mayor of Cornwall will square off tonight in the only planned debate before the municipal election.
Incumbent Glen Grant, James Leroux, Jordan Poapst and Justin Towndale will participate in a two-hour debate at the Best Western Parkway Inn and Conference Center.
The event is organized by the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with YourTV and is being moderated by local radio personality Bill Halman.
Given the number of people running for city council – 27 people vying for 10 seats – candidates are doing a two-minute recorded piece with YourTV before the mayoral debate.
There will also be “free time” from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for people to meet one-on-one with council candidates in the Cabaret Ballroom.
The mayoral debate runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
We go the polls on Monday, Oct. 24.
