CORNWALL – Hundreds of bowlers will be taking to the lanes this weekend to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall and District.

It’s the 39th annual Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake at Olympia Bowl at 71 Ninth Street West and Nativity Bowl at 301 McConnell Avenue.

The action starts at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and goes to 7:30 p.m. in Cornwall. A sister event will be held Sunday (Feb. 5) in Chesterville.

The event last year raised over $65,000 and had 198 teams and 1,000 bowlers signed up for the charity event.

This year’s honourary chair is the Cornwall Colts and the organization is hoping to raise at least $60,000.

The money is used for seven mentoring programs offered to SD&G families.

There are 120 children on a waiting list to find a big brother or big sister, according to BBBS.
