CORNWALL – The Cornwall Colts have been able to secure a number of local names for lineups down the road.
During Monday’s 2016 CCHL Bantam Protected Draft, the Colts were able to get dibs on players Parker Tallman and Jared Seguin from South Stormont.
From Alexandria, the team selected Jeremy Quesnel, Lochlan MacDonald and goalie Julien Cholette.
Hunter MacPherson from North Glengarry was also picked.
Also for future lineups are South Glengarry defencemen Josh Vandrish and Campbell Craig.
Forward Jacob Lamothe from Cornwall’s Seaway Valley Rapids was also selected.
Defenceman Curtis Gervais also made the Colts’ third selection.
The Bantam Protected Draft is for players that are 15-16 years old and protects the Colts’ interests for future years – other teams can’t sign these players.
The next and more significant draft – the Midget draft – happens Monday (April 25).
