SD&G – Two events in Dundas County have received nearly $150,000 from the Ontario government.

The provincial government announced $15 million Monday for 200 festivals and events, which will draw tourists to the area and, in turn, boost the economy and jobs.

Pumpkinferno, which runs during the month of October at Upper Canada Village in South Dundas, is receiving $98,000.

In North Dundas, the South Mountain Fair is getting $47,913.

The grants come from Celebrate Ontario, an application based grant program which provides marketing funding to new and existing events.
