EQAO testing cancelled at UCDSB elementary schools

SD&G – Dealing with a elementary teachers’ work-to-rule campaign, the Upper Canada District School Board has shelved its standardized testing, under the direction of the test administrator.

The spring assessment of Grade 3 and 6 reading, writing and math for the Education Quality and Accountability Office won’t happen for the next few weeks.

UCDSB chairman Jeff McMillan notified parents late Friday afternoon.

McMillan says, aside from the EQAO testing, nothing else will really change.

If the EQAO testing doesn’t happen this year, it will be the first time in the 20-year history that tests didn’t go ahead.

Elementary teachers with English public boards have been in a work-to-rule campaign since Monday.
