CORNWALL – Weather-based parking restrictions in the City of Cornwall take effect tonight.
Conditional overnight parking restrictions come into effect at midnight.
As of Nov. 15 (Wednesday), you can’t park on the street overnight if there’s snow forecast for the area which would leave more than 5 centimeters (2 inches) on the ground.
The overnight hours are 1 a.m. until 7 a.m.
These less-restrictive rules are in effect until Dec. 14 when an all-out overnight ban takes effect Dec. 15 until the end of March 2024.
In 2021, the city launched a set of boutique parking permits, which included overnight parking service at two municipal lots (behind Kastner’s on First Street East and next to the police station on Montreal Road) as well as 24-hour parking permits.
