LONG SAULT – Provincial police have charged a North Glengarry man with arson in relation to recent fires in SD&G.

SD&G OPP say “several” fires were deliberately set between July and November – one of them was an excavator that was burned in North Stormont.

Police arrested 32-year-old Nathan Riley last week (Nov. 25) and charged him with three counts of arson.

Riley will appear in a Cornwall court on Dec. 29, 2022.

Const. Serge Duguay told Cornwall Newswatch the public is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477) or their local police department.

“There’s probably more unsolved ones (fires) that we would like to have information on them if people do have some information to provide us,” Duguay said.
