OTTAWA – Two deacons from Cornwall and North Stormont will mark their next chapter in Catholicism.

Marc Gaudet and Kevin Burgess are two of three deacons to be ordained at the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Ottawa on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

In a diocese newsletter, Gaudet says he went with his family to St. Bernard’s Parish in Finch when it was part of the Alexandria-Cornwall Diocese before the amalgamation with the Ottawa Diocese to become the Ottawa-Cornwall Archdiocese.

Priesthood runs in the family as Gaudet’s younger brother, Steven, is also a priest and serving as an associate pastor at the Divine Infant Parish in Orleans.

Burgess was born and raised in Cornwall, received his Sacraments of Initiation at Ste-Therese-de-Lisieux, and went to St. Peter’s Church as an adult.

In addition to Gaudet and Burgess, Connor O’Hara from the Ottawa area of Stittsville will also be ordained.
