CORNWALL — Cornwall RCMP have conducted a search and seizure this morning (Tuesday) at a home in a quiet neighbourhood, east of Pitt Street and Tollgate Road.

Both marked and unmarked cruisers surrounded the semi-detached home in the 30 block of Sunset Boulevard sometime before 9 a.m.

Officers combed through a black Chrysler 200C sedan parked on the street before turning their attention to the contents of the home.

People driving through the neighbourhood slowed down to look at all the police activity while neighbours in the immediate vicinity of the home seemed to go about their business, paying little attention to what was going on next door.

A caller from the neighbourhood told Cornwall Newswatch that undercover police cars had been staking out the area for about a month.

Around 10:45 a.m., three officers exited the house. One was carrying a large black garbage bag, the other a bankers box and the third a clear package with what appeared to be a black weapon on top. A black gun stock was showing along with an evidence tag.
