CORNWALL – Police have released the name of the accused in a stabbing on Pitt Street early Thursday (June 27) morning.
Karley Billard, 27, of Cornwall is facing one charge of aggravated assault.
Billard was held for a bail hearing.
A man was rushed to the Cornwall Community Hospital by paramedics and then transferred to an Ottawa hospital with critical injuries after being stabbed around 4:30 a.m.
After a day-long investigation, police arrested a suspect.
Police say the accused and the 39-year-old victim knew each other and there is no risk to the general public from Thursday morning’s fight near Pitt and Sixth Streets.
