CORNWALL – Local entrepreneur and city councillor Eric Bergeron has been named the executive director of the Cornwall Innovation Center.
The CIC made the announcement today (Friday), though Bergeron has been in the position for a bit because he declared a conflict of interest during city budget deliberations, disclosing that he was about to be hired as the new ED.
Bergeron has been behind eight startups, including three companies in the Agritech sector.
He takes over for Kelly Bergeron (no relation), who left the organization.
The CIC, housed in Nav Center, is a business mentor and accelerator organization and has been in operation since early 2017.
In 2018, the city committed $50,000 in annual funding to the center for the next decade.
