Malyon Excavation fined $25,000

CORNWALL – Cornwall landscaping company Malyon Excavation has been fined $25,000, the Technical Standards and Safety Authority announced Thursday.

The company pleaded guilty last week in Provincial Offences Act court to violating an Ontario regulation regarding natural gas pipelines.

It pled to two counts of damaging a natural gas pipeline on Fifth Street in December 2016 and Beach Avenue in June 2017 – both in the City of Cornwall.

The fine is $10,000 for each guilty plea plus a 25 per cent victim fine surcharge.
