Name change proposed for Morrisburg street

MORRISBURG – South Dundas council will hear a proposal tonight (Tuesday) to change the name of a Morrisburg street.

Gerry Rosenquist will make a presentation to council, asking it to change Canada Way to Cruickshank Crescent in memory of the founder of Cruickshank Construction.

Les Cruickshank died in October at the age of 88.

Rosenquist says the change makes sense because Canada Way, which goes along Morrisburg’s waterfront and Earl Baker Park, has no mailing addresses, the current name is generic and the change wouldn’t cost much.

Tonight’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the South Dundas Municipal Center.
