SD&G – If Canada Post goes on strike, SD&G residents on welfare or disability support will still be able to get their benefits and payments.
Cornwall and SD&G Ontario Works announced today that cheques can be picked up starting Monday (Oct. 22) on the fourth floor of 340 Pitt Street in Cornwall.
You will have to show ID, like a health card, birth certificate or driver’s licence, to collect your cheque.
The plan is in place regardless if Canada Post has a full or partial strike.
Bank direct deposits are not affected.
Canada Post could start rotating strikes on Monday as the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), representing 50,000 postal workers, fights for better job security, health and safety measures and an end to forced overtime.
