Letter to the Editor: Thanks to mystery family for returned wallet

Earlier this week I had the misfortune of ‘losing’ my wallet. Needless to say, in this day and age of tap cards and identity theft, this can be considered a traumatic event. Not only must one cancel bank cards and credit cards, one must also replace ID cards.

However, I am very happy to report that my wallet was found by someone who immediately informed the Cornwall Community Police Service. Although they said they had contacted me and left a message, I was not able to access that message, but after contacting the Police Service to inform of my loss, I was able to retrieve my wallet. Complete!

I am told that a family brought my wallet in and chose not to leave their name so that I could contact them to thank them. So I am doing it now through you, hoping you will kindly print my message.

I may never win the lottery, but I consider myself very fortunate! And I truly wish to thank this family for making my life so much easier. I would also like them to know that I will definitely pay this special favour forward.

Many thanks to them.
