$1M lottery ticket sold in Cornwall

CORNWALL – Someone in Cornwall picked up a lottery ticket that’s now worth a cool $1 million.

It was one of seven Max Millions tickets which were drawn as part of the Lotto Max draw Friday night. The other winning Max Millions tickets were sold in Mississauga, the Newmarket area, Oakville, Thunder Bay, Toronto and the Woodbridge area.

A ticket in Quebec took the $60 million Lotto Max jackpot.

Each $5 Lotto Max ticket gives you three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. Players must match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot or the Max Millions prizes.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation officials didn’t disclose the Cornwall location where the ticket was bought because it’s part of the validation process to eliminate lottery fraud.

The winners will have one year from yesterday (Dec. 22) to claim their prize.
