Heat warning in the fall for SD&G

SD&G – It’s going to be a hot one this weekend, prompting Environment Canada to issue a heat warning for SD&G.

The advisory was issued around 3:30 p.m.

People with chronic illnesses, young children, pregnant women and older adults are advised to take it easy this weekend and drink plenty of fluids.

A heat warning is issued when there will be two or more consecutive days where the high will reach 31 degrees and the nighttime low will be 21 degrees or warmer.

The warning is also in place when humidex values are expected to reach 42 degrees or higher.

The weather advisory makes it almost hard to believe the calendar says fall. The autumn season officially arrives at 4:02 p.m. today (Friday).
