CORNWALL – It could turn out to be an extremely slippery and treacherous night on Tuesday.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for SD&G Monday afternoon.

It’s expected the region will see several hours of freezing rain starting Tuesday night before ending overnight.

It will be mixed with a few centimeters of snow and ice pellets before the freezing rain.

The weather agency is warning about hazardous winter travelling conditions.

A freezing rain warning is issued when rain is falling in sub-zero temperatures and creates an icy buildup and icy surfaces.
