CORNWALL – A Christmas donation by a local atom hockey team got an extra special treatment Wednesday night.

Members of the Atom B1 Colts were taken on a tour of the Fourth Street fire station by Cornwall firefighter Charles Gagnon from the 2A platoon.

The tour included a special appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog mascot and the kids got to give back by delivering toys to him personally for Sparky’s Toy Drive.

“It is special time of year, and the kids were all happy to help out in a way in which they could. Parents explained how it was wonderful to see the excitement on their kids facing picking out/purchasing a toy for a child who may not have the Christmas every little boy or little girl deserves,” an event coordinator said.

The Cornwall Atom B1 Colts is made up of Darren Russell (goalie), Charlie Verville, Ethan Payette, Cole Lauzon, Derrick Fraser, Samuel Malyon, Kaleb Ivens, Ethan Vachon, Blake Besignano, Gavin MacDonald, Malik Dawson, Head Coach Mark Payette, Assistant Coaches Margaret Payette and Jason MacDonald, trainer Mike Dawson, goalie mentor Jazzy (Jason) Labelle and manager Tawnie MacDonald.
