Second World Junior team to train at Benson Center

CORNWALL – Another international hockey team at the World Junior Championships will be calling the Benson Center home for its pre-competition training.

The city announced Thursday that Team Slovakia will be practicing at the facility, starting Saturday, Dec. 17.

That’s in addition to the previous announcement that Team Denmark would be training at the Benson Center from Dec. 15 until Dec. 23.

The practices (schedule at bottom of this page) are free and open to the public.

Slovakia is also here for its World Junior exhibition game against Sweden on Monday, Dec. 19 at the Ed Lumley Arena at 7 p.m.

The World Junior Hockey Championship starts Boxing Day in Montreal and Toronto.
