CORNWALL – People in Cornwall for Canada Day should be looking to the sky around noon.

The Department off National Defence Hercules CC-130J is scheduled to fly over Lamoureux Park during Canada Day festivities, Friday, July 1, 2016.

“It is a great honour to have this magnificent aircraft pass through Cornwall once again this year. Visitors to Lamoureux Park really enjoyed the low fly over last year, and we’re grateful that our Canadian Armed Forces are making it happen again in 2016,” local MP Guy Lauzon said.

The four-engine, fixed-wing turboprop aircraft is the workhorse of the Canadian military, carrying up to 92 combat troops or 128 non-combat troops at a time.

The plane is also used for cargo and aircrew training.

It should also be noted that the flyover is dependent on favourable weather.
