WILLIAMSTOWN – A bridge near the intersection of Glen Road and Kraft Road is closed today and will be for most of the summer.
The township is rehabilitating the Kraft Road bridge, just north of the intersection, south of Williamstown.
The 1962 three span concrete bridge is about 18 meters long (60 feet) and roughly 7.3 meters (24 feet) wide.
Emergency repairs were done to the abutments and piers in 2009.
An engineering report from 2012 suggests this work – with amounts to about $1 million – should keep in bridge in good shape for the next 50 years.
Detours are in place and the road will remain closed until Sept. 30, 2016.
