CASSELMAN – Seventeen vehicles were pulled off the road late last week in the latest commercial vehicle enforcement blitz.
O.P.P. and Ministry of Transportation officials checked 110 vehicles on Thursday and Friday and say one of those trucks pulled out of service had a critical defect with six broken steering axle springs.
There were at least 37 other charges laid – most of them for speeding.
A half-dozen drivers were caught without a seatbelt on three had not completed a pre-trip report.
