LONG SAULT – Five homes in the village had to be evacuated Tuesday after a natural gas leak at a construction site.
South Stormont firefighters and SD&G O.P.P. were called to the area of Mille Roches Road and French Avenue around 8:20 a.m.
Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution and the local gas company is on scene repairing the leak, said police.
Nearby schools and nursing homes have also been notified.
