Identity fraud charges against Ottawa teenager

CORNWALL – An Ottawa teenager is facing identity fraud-related charges in connection to relations with an ex-boyfriend.

City police said Wednesday the 18-year-old turned herself into police headquarters yesterday (Tuesday) to deal with the matter.

Police allege the accused had contacted her ex-boyfriend on a number of occasions this month despite being told not to and also cancelled what they’re calling “personal applications” the man had submitted within the city.

Const. Dan Cloutier could not elaborate on what those personal applications were because it would identify the victim in the case.

The accused, who is also not identified, will appear in court Sept. 29 on charges of criminal harassment, identity fraud and mischief.
