SD&G – A number of fireworks displays will be going on tonight (Saturday) after being postponed on a soggy Canada Day.

Near the Long Sault Plaza, a huge fireworks display will light up the sky at dusk along the Long Sault waterfront.

In Martintown, the South Glengarry Fire Station #2 will have chips and drinks starting at 8 p.m. before the fireworks.

Over in Morrisburg, there will be Canada Day celebrations at Earl Baker Park and fireworks in the evening.

In Iroquois, the Canada Day fireworks will be set off at 9:30-9:45 p.m. at Iroquois Point.

Cornwall’s fireworks went on as planned on Wednesday and there are no celebrations going on.

This is also Independence Day in the United States, where fireworks will also be going off in many north country communities to celebrate America’s 239th anniversary.

One of the biggest displays in St. Lawrence County is in Norwood, N.Y. (just north of Potsdam).
