
SOUTH STORMONT – The South Stormont Selects are bringing home gold after going undefeated at the 2015 Bell Capital Cup.
The Atom division hockey team went 6-and-0 during the tournament from Dec. 29 to Jan. 2 at the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa.
Four players were singled out for divisional point records as Cullan Wheeler collected 18 points during the tournament, Owen Beauregard had 17, Lorne Wheeler had 12 and Ian McCosham had 11.
South Stormont spokeswoman Shauna Baggs says the Selects are, “a team that plays like a team. Sharing the puck, owning their position and cheering each other on made this team unbeatable.”
The team members are Heath Patterson, Michael Avary, Joseph Ravary, Ian McCosham, Coen McMillan, Cullan Wheeler, Cole Lalonde, Owen Beauregard, Lorne Wheeler, Andrew Baggs, Jonathan Dilimarter, Maiavia Ware and Martin Bissonnette.
They are coached by Matt McCosham, Nick Bissonnette and Brent McMillan.
The trainer is Matt Ware and the manager is Liz Bissonnette.
