SD&G – School buses have been cancelled across Cornwall and SD&G today (Feb. 20).
The transportation consortium Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) has cancelled all school buses in the region. The French transportation consortium also cancelled buses.
STEO says the cancellation is due to “forecasted weather.”
A special weather statement was issued by Environment Canada around 2 a.m. today calling for up to 10 centimeters (4 inches) of snow beginning late this morning or early this afternoon.
The snow could be mixed with ice pellets in locations near the St. Lawrence River and there’s the potential for reduced visibility in blowing snow.
Schools remain open.
This is the eighth time this season buses have been cancelled due to the weather. The last cancellation was Feb. 10.
