OTTAWA – A recall of Pillsbury brand Pizza Pops has expanded.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says several varieties of the food have been linked to an outbreak of E. coli.

In an update Monday (Jan. 26), the agency added 11 new items to the recall list on top of the original four items.

The agency says 29 cases of E. coli have been reported in seven provinces including two cases in Ontario.

That’s nine more cases than a month ago.

Seven people have been hospitalized due to the infection.

The health agency says you should throw out the affected products or return them to the store for a refund.

E. coli is a bacterial infection which can be spread by an infected person weeks after they become infected. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, headache, fever, stomach cramps and diarrhea.
