Pizza Pops recalled due to E. coli

OTTAWA – If you have recently bought some Pillsbury brand Pizza Pops, take note.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says several varieties of the food have been linked to an outbreak of E. coli.

There have been 20 lab-confirmed cases of the illness in five provinces (two in Ontario) and four people have been hospitalized as of yesterday (Dec. 22).

The recalled products are:

  • Pepperoni and Bacon (30 pizza snacks)
  • Pepperoni and Bacon (8 pizza snacks)
  • Supremo Extreme Pepperoni and Bacon (30 pizza snacks)
  • FRANK’s RedHot Pepperoni and Bacon (4 pizza snacks)

The health agency says you should throw out the affected products or return them to the store for a refund.

E. coli is a bacterial infection which can be spread by an infected person weeks after they become infected. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, headache, fever, stomach cramps and diarrhea.
