Drug trafficking investigation leads to Alexandria arrest

ALEXANDRIA – A man from Alexandria is facing charges after a drug bust.

Provincial police say they “recently began” an investigation into drug trafficking in the Alexandria area.

Police searched a home on Elgin Street on Tuesday (July 22) and seized 20 grams of suspected cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia and an e-bike, said to be stolen in Cornwall.

A 62-year-old man from Alexandria is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

He will appear in an Alexandria court Sept. 3.
