SD&G – Auxiliary officers with the SD&G OPP will be collecting food donations across the region Saturday for local food banks.

It’s the annual Stuff the Cruiser Food Drive with help from the U15 South Dundas Lions Rep hockey team.

Donations are being accepted between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Winchester – Foodland
  • Morrisburg – Laura’s Your Independent Grocer
  • Chesterville – Mike Dean Local Grocer
  • Iroquois – Foodland
  • Alexandria – Mainville’s Your Independent Grocer (10 a.m. – 3 p.m. with assistance of Saint Vincent de Paul)

The bulk of donations will go to Community Food Share, serving Dundas and Stormont Counties with Alexandria donations going to Saint Vincent de Paul.

In 2022, the event collected over 2,200 pounds of food and $2,345 in donations.

“From all the members of the OPP Auxiliary Unit and the OPP, we thank everyone in advance as the Food Drive is sure to be great success,” Const. John MacPherson said.
