SOUTH STORMONT – Police used a spike belt to stop a stolen Jeep on Highway 401 Wednesday morning.
SD&G OPP say they intercepted the eastbound 2024 Grand Cherokee, reported stolen from the Peel area of Toronto, around 10:30 a.m.
“A tire deflation device was utilized to safely stop the vehicle and the driver was arrested,” Const. Serge Duguay said in a news release.
A 44-year-old man from Brossard, Que is facing charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of break-in instruments and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
