CORNWALL – The United Way of SD&G has released its total from a holiday party.

The 11th edition of its Holiday Gala raised $90,000 from a crowd of roughly 200 at the Cornwall Civic Complex on Nov. 25.

The United Way says it’s the “highest fundraising event total to date.”

The $300-a-ticket event saw over 50 items also donated from local businesses for a silent and live auction, which brought it $40,000 of the $90,000 raised.

“The money raised will go a long way in helping us lead and invest in programs addressing poverty, homelessness, hunger and mental health,” Executive Director Juliette Labossiere said.
