AKWESASNE – The former chief administrative officer of South Glengarry has landed not too far from the municipality.
Tim Mills has been hired as executive director for the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, the MCA announced Monday.
Mills was hired by South Glengarry in 2019 before resigning last month during the council meeting on April 3 for what was described at the time as a “new opportunity…yet to be announced.”
The MCA says Mills was chosen following a national search process “which resulted in a field of exceptional candidates.”
“Our Council believes that Tim’s experience in infrastructure and public services, his commitment to learning and innovation, and his mix of skills and leadership qualities position him for success in leading our organization forward,” the MCA said in a news release.
The council also thanked Donna Roundpoint for filling in as interim executive director.
Mills started his new position today (May 1).
