INGLESIDE – Provincial police have made an arrest following last fall’s hit-and-run on County Road 2 west of Ingleside.

SD&G OPP announced today (March 22) they arrested 46-year-old Curry Hitsman of Cornwall on Tuesday following an investigation using accident reconstruction experts and forensic analysis.

Hitsman is facing one count of failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm.

A pedestrian was hit on County Road 2 while walking east alongside the highway when they were struck by an eastbound vehicle.

During their search, OPP had been looking for a grey 2012 or 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango.

Police say the victim has “life-altering” injuries. In October, the victim was being treated in the intensive care unit of an area hospital.

Hitsman is scheduled to make an appearance in a Cornwall court on April 11.
