Cornwall police seize $41,000 in drugs, cash during traffic stop

CORNWALL – Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop uncovered thousands of dollars in drugs and cash.

Cornwall police say they stopped a vehicle near Water Street and Augustus Street early Thursday morning.

Police say they found cannabis, cocaine, oxycodone, cash and a hatchet during a search.

The Cornwall Police Service estimates the drugs and cash total $41,000.

A 29-year-old woman from Cornwall and a 23-year-old man of no fixed address were charged and kept in jail for a bail hearing.
