CORNWALL – A half dozen local organizations are benefiting from an interactive Halloween fundraiser.

Cornwall’s Ghost Walk for Charity announced last month that $30,000 had been raised during the three October weekends in the upper level of Cornwall Square prior to Halloween.

Organizer Michael Turcotte says more than 4,000 people participated in the scary walk-through.

Six organizations are receiving $5,000 each: Center 105, Cornwall Comfort Quilts, Cornwall Canada Day, Diversity Cornwall, Habitat for Humanity and Salesian Youth Center.

In 2021, $30,000 was also given out but it was $10,000 each for three organizations.

The Ghost Walk for Charity is already planning for 2023 and will also be announcing a new year-round grant program.

“Our partnerships with sponsors and volunteers are vital to the success of our events, and we are truly humbled by your continued support,” Turcotte said in a news release.
