CORNWALL – A city roofing contractor is facing an additional fraud charge for allegedly taking a deposit but never completing the work.
Kirk Beckstead, 30, will appear in court today (Nov. 15) after turning himself into the Cornwall Police Service on Oct. 12 to face two additional charges.
The Cornwall Police Service alleges he accepted a deposit for a shingling job on April 13 and never came back to complete the work.
Beckstead is also facing a charge of failing to attend the police station to be fingerprinted.
These charges are in addition to the four counts of fraud he is already facing from earlier this year.
Beckstead was operating as K.B. Roofing & Renovations, according to a local trades website.
