Tony Luis retires from boxing

CORNWALL – Cornwall boxer Tony Luis is hanging up the gloves.

Luis announced his retirement from professional boxing during a news conference outside the Cornwall Civic Complex Friday afternoon.

At 34 years old, he cited his age as part of his reason to retire.

He ends his career in the ring with a record of 29-6 with 10 knockouts.

Luis still plans to be involved with the sport in other capacities, like refereeing and colour commentary for TV.
