CORNWALL – A six month investigation by the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service has resulted in the arrests of three people and the seizure of $10,000 in fentanyl.

Officers arrested two men and one woman on Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of the Home Depot on Brookdale Avenue in Cornwall.

Akwesasne police say the drugs were coming from a supplier in Ottawa and then would be transported to Akwesasne where they would be sold as a “street level drug.”

During the arrests, officers also seized $7,000 cash, three cell phones and one vehicle.

An Ottawa man, a man from Akwesasne and a woman, also from Akwesasne, are facing drug trafficking related charges.

They were kept in jail for a bail hearing in Cornwall.
