Victim in North Glengarry motorcycle crash identified

CORRECTION: This story was corrected at 8:48 a.m. Thursday due to an error at source. Family say McVey has lived in Alexandria for six years and previously lived in Alnwick Haldimand Township. SD&G OPP had identified McVey as being from the township near Peterborough.

ALEXANDRIA – Provincial police have identified the victim of a motorcycle crash in North Glengarry.

SD&G OPP say 70-year-old Peter McVey died around noon Thursday (June 30) when his bike crashed on McCormick Road, east of Alexandria.

Family say McVey is from Alexandria and has lived in the community for about six years.

He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police say no other vehicles were involved and are still investigating the cause the crash.
