CORNWALL – One of Cornwall’s two emergency walk-in clinics will be closing permanently next month.

The McConnell Walk-In Clinic at 820 McConnell Avenue will close its doors Sunday, June 12, the facility announced in a social media post Thursday.

The clinic, which opened 32 years ago, cites difficulty in finding doctors to operate the clinic.

In the preceding months, there have been times when the clinic has had to close unexpectedly because there was no doctor available to staff the clinic at the McConnell Medical Center.

That will leave the city with one walk-in clinic – the Pitt Street Medical Center.

Cornwall Medical Practice on Second Street West, which had been a walk-in clinic, changed to a family practice doctor’s office on March 31.
