TYOTOWN – Twelve-hundred households in South Glengarry will have access to high speed internet in the future.

The provincial government announced Friday it has committed nearly $2.6 million for nine Ontario projects, including wiring up the Glendale subdivision, north of Highway 401 and east of Boundary Road.

The money is part of a $1.2 billion federal-provincial partnership to provide high-speed internet access to 280,000 rural and remote households by the end of 2025.

It’s the latest utility to the added to the neighbourhood, east of Cornwall, after the government announced natural gas service last year.
