SDSG – Nolan Quinn will represent the Progressive Conservative party in Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry in the upcoming provincial election.
Quinn announced the result of the nomination vote on his campaign social media page Saturday afternoon.
“So honoured and humbled to have been selected as the next candidate…I am excited to continue this journey with all of you!” he wrote.
Quinn also thanked his competitor, Andrew Guindon, for “showing his commitment to our community and running a good campaign.”
Voting took place today at the Ramada Inn in Cornwall and the J.W. MacIntosh Seniors’ Support Center in Williamsburg.
Quinn is taking over for MPP Jim McDonell who decided to retire at the end of his term.
Quinn, who lives in St. Andrews West and runs a business in Cornwall, will likely be up against Liberal Kirsten Gardner in the upcoming June provincial election. Gardner is the only person to put their name forward for the Liberal nomination.
The local NDP and Greens have, so far, not announced a candidate for the June 2 vote.
